Nashville, Tenn. - The Tennessee State University women's cross country team continued the 2010 season by finishing in 13th place (389) out of 16 teams in the Commodore Classic.
Vanderbilt University hosted the 5k event, which was held at Vaughn's Gap inside Percy Warner Park on Saturday morning. This was the Tigers first 5k of the season.
Vanderbilt won the meet with a score of 21. Lipscomb (54), UT-Chattanooga (97), Belmont (113), and Middle Tennessee State (136) rounded out the top five scores.
Finishing one and two for TSU was junior, Brittney Washington with a time of 21:52, which landed her in 66th place, while freshman Tiffany Harris posted a time of 22:22 and finished in 71st
The Tigers will hit the road again next week when they compete in the Morehouse College Invitational in Atlanta, GA on Saturday, September 25th. The event is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. at Perkerson Park.
