Atlanta, Ga. - The Tennessee State University Tigerbelles picked up two wins while finishing in the top three of seven events at the 40th Annual Morehouse College Relays, held at the Edwin Moses Track in Atlanta, Ga.
The Tigerbelles finished fourth in the team standings with 96 points scoring in 15 events. Florida A&M picked up first place with 212.50 points followed by Troy (124) and Albany State (111). Clark Atlanta (57), Fort Valley State (34), Tuskegee (34), Paine (33.5), Kentucky State (28), Stillman (26), Alabama A&M (21), Georgia State (10), and Rust (3) rounded out the team scoring.
Teannah Holland picked up her first collegiate win in the shot put when she tossed a career high of 40"02.25 feet (12.25m).
Martinique Guice fared well with a second-place finish in the long jump with a mark of 19"02.00 feet (5.84m). She also finished fourth and seventh in the 100m (12.11s) and 200m (25.45s) dash with her fastest times of the season.
Daniecce Ward recorded a season best of 5:05.75 (1.67m) in the high jump event to finish second. Later in the day, Ward set her personal record in the triple jump with a score of 37"02.25 feet (11.33m) which was good for a fifth place overall.
Brittany Washington earned another second-place finish for the Tigerbelles with a time of 4:55.45 in the 1500m dash. Ashley Taylor ended up in third in the 400m clocking in with a time of 57.30s.
In other relay events, the team of Carolyn and Caylon Petway, Martinique Guice, and Gabrielle Todd rounded out the scores for the day when they finished third in the 4x200m relay with a time of 1:40.89.
