Chattanooga, Tenn. - The Tennessee State University Tigerbelles opened up the 2010 cross-country season with an eighth-place finish (229) at the PowerAde Invitational. UT at Chattanooga hosted the 2-mile race on Friday, September 10th at the Moccasin Bend Race Course.
Chattanooga edged out Middle Tennessee State 43-41 to take the meet. Lipscomb (91), University of Alabama-Huntsville (109), Kennesaw State (111), Austin Peay State (153), and Covenant College (208) rounded out the team scores.
Making their debut for the Tigerbelles, junior transfer Brittany Washington and freshman Tiffany Harris finished one and two for TSU. Washington earned a 42nd place finish with a time of 14:16, while Harris clocked in at 14:22 at 43rd place finish.
Next up, the Tigerbelles go across town to compete in the Commodore Classic hosted by Vanderbilt University. The event will be held at Percy Warner Park and is slated to begin at 10 a.m.
