Tigerbelles to open indoor season at the MTSU Christmas Invitational

Nashville, Tenn. - The Tennessee State University women's track team will open their 2009-10 indoor track and field season when they compete in the MTSU Christmas Invitational.

The meet is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 12, starting with the women's weight throw at 11 a.m.

Teams set to participate include host, Middle Tennessee State, Georgia Tech, Milligan, Vanderbilt, and Western Kentucky.

Last season, the Tigerbelles opened the year at the MTSU Christmas Invitational and was highlighted by a second place performance in the long jump by junior Martinique Guice. Guice finished with a jump of 18' 11.5".

The Tigerbelles will continue their indoor season on Sunday, Jan. 10, when they host the Ed Temple Classic. The meet will take place on the Wilma Rudolph Indoor Track inside the Gentry Center.
