Tigerbelles pick up wins on home track at Boston-Moon Classic

Nashville, Tenn. - The Tennessee State University Tigerbelles captured four events including the 4x100-meter and 4x400-meter relays at the 8th Annual Boston-Moon Classic on the Edward S. Temple Track.

TSU posted their fastest times of the season in both relays for first place finishes.

The team of Martinique Guice, Carolyn Petway, Caylon Petway, and Gabrielle Todd clocked in at 47.62 seconds in the 4x100m relay.

Todd and Car. Petway also teamed up with Jaleeca Jacobs and Kya Riley on the 4x400m relay with the team running 3:56.84.

Todd also notched a first-place finish in the 400-meter dash with a time of 57.70. She records her first career victory in the event.

The Tigerbelles posted another career win when Daniecce Ward won the high jump clearing 5' 3.0 (1.60m). She also placed third in the triple jump with a mark of 35'10 (10.92m).

Other top-three finishes included second place from Guice in the long jump and Kenisha Ladler in the 400m hurdles. Guice, back from an injury, jumped 18'11.75" (5.78m) and Ladler ran her fastest time of the season clocking 1:05.83. Ladler added to her hurdle performance picking up third place in the 100m hurdles with a career-best time of 16.15 seconds. 

Car. Petway and Apryl Johnson finished with their fastest times of the season for third place respectively. Petway posted 58.98 in the 400m and Johnson finished at 1:05.98 in the 400m hurdles.

The Tigerbelles will return to the track next week when they compete in the Eastern Kentucky Open. The meet will take place in Richmond, Ky. on Saturday, April 17th, on the Tom Samuels Track on the campus of EKU.
