Atlanta, Ga. - For their first outdoor meet of 2010, the Tigerbelles scored points in 13 events, placing in the top-three in six, as Tennessee State University finished fourth in the team standings at the 39th Annual Morehouse Relays on Saturday (3/19).
Troy won the event with 185.66 points with Fort Valley State (121) and Florida A&M (104.5) finishing ahead of the Tigerbelles in the team rankings.
Jasmine Jacobs captured her first career victory posting the team's only first-place finish. She won the 3000-meter steeplechase with a 13:23.12 clocking while adding a third-place finish in the 1500-meter run with a time of 5:25.44.
TSU also managed second place finishes in four events.
Gabrielle Todd shared a three-way draw for second in the high jump at 5'04 (1.62m). Todd also competed in the 400-meter dash finishing fourth with a time of 59.18 seconds.
In the long jump, Martinique Guice finished in second place with a mark of 18'10.5 (5.75m) after winning the event a year ago. As a result, Guice's outdoor winning streak, which included last year's marks and the OVC title in the event, was snapped.
In the relays, TSU settled in second in the 4x200 (1:42.63) and the 4x800 (10:39.56).
Next week, the Tigerbelles will compete in the Weems Baskin Relays hosted by the University of South Carolina in Columbia, S.C. on March 27th.
