Cookeville, Tenn. - To close out the 2010 track and field season, the Tennessee State University Tigerbelles added seven finishes scored on the final day of competition at the OVC Outdoor Track and Field Championship on Saturday afternoon.
The meet suffered delays due to the inclement weather with athletes running events in the rain.
TSU finished seventh in the final team standings with 42.5 points. Eastern Illinois (212 pts) reclaimed the team title followed by Southeast Missouri State (155.5 pts) and Eastern Kentucky (131 pts).
Kenisha Ladler delivered the top performance on the final day with a fourth place finish in the 400m hurdles running a time of 1:04.39.
After winning the long jump title in day one of the championship, Martinique Guice finished sixth in the 100m with a time of 12.39 seconds.
In the triple jump, TSU rounded sixth through eighth to score in the event. Daniecce Ward jumped 36' 09.75 / 11.22m (6th), followed by DeRonda Newson (7th - 36' 04.75" / 11.09m), and Guice (8th - 36' 02.75 / 11.04m).
Other finishes for points scored include the 4x400-meter relay (5th - 3:54.40), the 4x100-meter relay (8th - 48.48 secs), and Jaleeca Jacobs (8th - 2:31.62) in the 800m.
