Women's XC Heads to UTC Front Runner Classic

Nashville, Tenn. - The Tennessee State University women’s cross country team will travel to Chattanooga this Saturday to compete in the UTC Front Runner Invitational at the Moccasin Bend Race Course. The women’s 2-mile begins at 3 p.m.

The pool of teams include host Chattanooga and Middle Tennessee State.

The women are led by seniors Jaleeca and Jasmine Jacobs and freshman Apryl Johnson. After laying idle last week, the women look to better a 6th place finish from the Tennessee Tech Invitational in Cookeville, Tenn. on October 2nd.

This will be the second time this season TSU will compete at Moccasin Bend after opening the season at UTC’s Powerade Invitational (9/11) posting a 5th place finish. Johnson led the team and was the first over the finish line posting a 14:37 in her first collegiate competition. Jal. Jacobs followed with a 14:49 with twin sister Jas. Jacobs right behind with a 14:59.

This will be the team's last meet before they will compete in the Ohio Valley Conference Cross Country Championship in Nashville, Tenn. at Percy Warner Park on October 31
