Guice Marks Career Best in Long Jump

Nashville, Tenn. - In day one of the SASF Invitational hosted by Southern Illinois, Martinique Guice set the tone for the Tigerbelles when she captured second place in the long jump.

Guice leaped a career best 19'03.25" (5.87m) just a foot-and-a-half short of Bianca Stuart's (Southern Illinois) NCAA Indoor Championship automatic jump and winning leap of 21"00.5.

In the women's weight throw, Kathy Onwu and Tanesha Campbell finished back-to-back in the event. Onwu had a toss of 51'05.75" to finish sixth with Campbell taking seventh with a throw of 51'04.25".

Day two of the meet will begin with the women's shot put at 10 a.m. The running events are slated for 10:30 a.m. with a rolling schedule to follow beginning with the women's 60-meter dash.
