Kagaruki Takes Second in 800-meter dash 

Women's Results - 38th Annual Morehouse Relays 

Atlanta, Ga. – The Tennessee State University Tigerbelles started the outdoor season capturing three first place finishes, including two in relay competition, at the 38th Annual Morehouse Relays in Atlanta, Ga.

Martinique Guice led the individual performances winning the long jump with a leap of 18'06.50". She then followed placing third in the triple jump with a mark of 35'09.25".

Guice joined teammates Lanika Horn, Pia Perez, and Jacarra Dennis to take first in the 4x200-meter relay with a time of 1:43.13. In the 4x800-meter relay, the team of Camille Zaidieh, Jaleeca Jacobs, Jasmine Jacobs, and Rahab Kagaruki captured first place by 47 seconds posting a 10:01.00 clocking.

Kagaruki finished first among collegiate runners and second overall in the open 800-meter dash with a time of 2:23.27. She also ran the mile, finishing fourth overall, second among collegiate runners recording a 5:11.10 time.

Tanesha Campbell and Ebonie Jackson also garnered second place finishes respectively. Campbell tossed a 41'10.75" in the shot put while Jackson threw a 126'09" in the discus event.

The Tigerbelles also turned in third place peformances in the 4x100-meter relay (49.34 sec.) and 4x400-meter (4:02.23).

Next week, the Tigerbelles will compete in the Weems Baskin Relays hosted by the University of South Carolina in Columbia, S.C. on March 28th.
