Campbell Takes Second, Five Tigerbelles Post Season Best

Nashville, Tenn. - The Tigerbelles finished the last day of the SASF Invitational hosted by Southern Illinois taking a second place finish in the shot put and a third place finish in the 4x400 meter relay.

Tanesha Campbell posted a throw of 44'07.00" in the women's shot put to take second place losing by less than two inches to Gwen Berry's (Southern Illinois) mark of 44'09.75".

On the final event of the meet, the women's 1600-meter relay team of Salisha Marryshow, Pia Perez, Lanika Horn and Martinique Guice took third with a time of 4:03.16.

Marryshow ran a season best in the open 400-meter dash with a time of 59.32 to rank fifth overall. Four other Tigerbelles posted their best marks of the season. Martinique Guice (200 meters - 26.26 sec.), Ebonie Jackson (shot put - 34'08".50), Kathy Onwu (shot put - 40'06.00) and Jasmine Jacobs (mile run - 6:00.88) tallied their best performance of the season.

Guice jumped a career-best (19'03.25") in the long jump on day one of the meet taking second place.

The Tigerbelles will continue their indoor schedule when they host the TSU Invite, Saturday, Jan. 31st inside the Gentry Center on the Wilma Rudolph Indoor Track.
