Tigerbelles Pick-Up Six Top-Three Finishes at Valentine's Invitational

1600-meter relay team takes first, Marryshow finishes second

Nashville,Tenn. – The Tennessee State University women's track and field team placed in the top-three in six events at Middle Tennessee State's Valentine Invitational on Saturday.

In the individual events, Salisha Marryshow finished second in the 200-meter dash posting her fastest time of the season at 25.48 seconds. Marryshow also anchored the first place 1600-meter relay team along with Jacarra Dennis, Pia Perez and Jaleeca Jacobs finishing with a time of 4:02.04.

Dennis also placed third in open competition along with teammates Kathy Onwu and Lanika Horn. Dennis finished the 400-meter dash with her fastest of the season, 1:00.20, and in the weight throw Onwu tossed 51'04" for her top finish. 

Horn tagged third place in two events jumping 35'10" in the triple jump and running her fastest time this season in the 55-meter hurdles at 8.61 seconds.  

The Tigerbelles head to Blacksburg, Va. next to compete in the Virginia Tech Challenge. The meet is scheduled for two days starting Friday, February 20th.
