Nashville, Tenn. - Legendary Tigerbelle Edith McGuire-Duvall was recently featured in the May 5, 2009 edition of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. The article, written by Darryl Maxie, takes a look at McGuire-Duvall's life during her days at Tennessee State University.
McGuire-Duvall won the gold medal in the 200 meters at the 1964 Olympics in Tokyo, breaking the 1960 world record set by another Tigerbelle, Wilma Rudolph. Earlier this year, she and her husband, Charles Duvall donated the largest private contribution in the history of Tennessee State University. She will be inducted into the Atlanta Sports Hall of Fame in June 2009.
