The Tennessee State University women’s cross country team finished seventh with 186 points in the Powerade Invitational Cross Country Meet hosted by University of Tennessee-Chattanooga.
The women were led in the season opener two-mile meet by Jaleeca Jacobs. Jacobs finished with a time of 14:01 placing 37th overall. Senior Rahab Kagaruki finished 40th overall and second in team scoring for TSU, running the course in 14:20.
In their first meet, Jasmine Jacobs and freshman Camille Zaidieh finished back-to-back in the 43rd and 44th spot. Both athletes were tenths of a second from each other at the 14:34 mark. Pia Perez finished the scoring running the course in 18:37 taking the 51st place.
TSU returns to action on September 20th at the Commodore Classic hosted by Vanderbilt University.
