The Tennessee State University women’s basketball team will return to Music City for the first game of a three-game homestand on Monday, Nov. 18 with a match-up against North Alabama. Fans are asked to wear blue for the Code Blue game set to tip-off at 5:30 p.m. in the Gentry Center.

Tennessee State is coming off a 73-43 loss to Tennessee last week. TSU is now 1-1 on the season.
TSU returned eight letterwinners from last season while six newcomers joined the team.
After two games, Taylor Roberts, TSU’s top returning scorer from last season, leads the team in scoring with 15.5 ppg. Jaden Wrightsell is pulling down a team best 9.0 rebounds per outing.
Tennessee State is led by third-year head coach Jessica Kern.
LAST TIME OUT
Tennessee State gave a spirited effort in the first half against an unbeaten Tennessee team, only trailing 14-10 at the end of the first quarter. TSU was down by 13 points at the break but got outscored 16-5 in the third period. The lopsided quarter allowed UT to take control of the game. Taylor Roberts finished the game with 12 points while Deaja Richardson registered 11 points.
ABOUT THE OPPONENT
North Alabama (2-1) had won its first two contests before falling to Iowa on the road. The Lions are averaging 98.3 points per game and shooting 54.5 percent from the field. Five players average double-digits in scoring for UNA led by Ivy Wallen (15.7 ppg) and Brittany Pannetti (15.0 ppg). Kenysha Coulson (11.7 ppg), Emma Wallen (11.3 ppg) and Olivia Noah (10.7 ppg) round out the top scorers.
TSU will face North Alabama for the fourth time in the series history. TSU leads the series 2-1. TSU claimed the first meeting between the two teams, 59-43, during the 1979-80 season. The Lions won the second time the teams played and the Lady Tigers picked up a, 58-40, victory in the last meeting.
