NASHVILLE --- Tennessee State women’s basketball alumnae Tia Wooten signed a contract to play basketball for Riva Basketball in Riva San Vitale, Switzerland.
Wooten had a stellar career as a Lady Tiger. She was named to the 2019 All-OVC second team and finished as TSU’s 12th all-time leading scorer. She was also a member of the 2015 OVC Championship team that earned an NCAA berth for the first time in 20 years.
As a redshirt senior, she led TSU in scoring and rebounding with 13.8 ppg and 6.8 rpg while posting double-digits in all except seven games.
The Memphis, Tenn. native finished the season ranked 8th in the OVC in scoring, 11th in overall rebounding, 11th in free-throw percentage, 10th in offensive rebounding, 11th in defensive rebounding and 27th in minutes played.
As a Lady Tiger, she tallied a total of 1,220 points and 559 rebounds in her career.
Prior to the season, Wooten was named to the Preseason All-OVC Team. Additionally, she earned All-OVC First Team honors as a redshirt junior.
