GAMEDAY
The Tennessee State University women’s basketball team returns to action on Saturday, January 12 against Morehead State. Game time is set for 5:30 p.m. in Gentry Center.

THE LADY TIGERS AT A GLANCE
Tennessee State is coming off its first win of the season with a 60-38 victory over Eastern Kentucky Thursday night in the Gentry Center. Saturday’s game will conclude a four-game home stand for the Lady Tigers.

Sophomore Taylor Roberts leads TSU in scoring with 14.3 points per game while Tia Wooten is averaging 12.3 ppg. Terrysha Banner (6.1 ppg) is the team’s third leading scorer while Jaden Wrightsell pulls down a team-best 7.3 rpg.

As a team, TSU is averaging 58.3 ppg while shooting 31.4 percent from the field, including 20.8 percent from three-point range and 70.1 percent from the free-throw line. TSU is ranked first in the OVC in offensive rebounds (16.0) and fifth in free-throw percentage (.701).

ABOUT THE OPPONENT
Morehead State (10-6, 1-2 OVC) is coming off a 77-50 loss to Belmont on Thursday. The Eagles opened league play with an 83-61 win over Murray State before dropping their next two. MSU also has a loss to Austin Peay. Aliyah Jeune (19.3 ppg) is leading the team in scoring while Miranda Crockett (18.4 ppg), Darianne Seward (10.4 ppg) and McKenzie Calvert (10.3 ppg) round out the top scorers.

SERIES INFORMATION
TSU and Morehead State will match up for the 61st time in the series history with the Eagles leading 34-26. TSU dropped both contests last season, falling to MSU 97-81 on the road before dropping a, 71-69, decision in the Gentry Center. The Lady Tigers have lost three straight over the Eagles. TSU’s last win was a 69-66 victory on Jan. 11, 2017.
