GAMEDAY: The Tennessee State University women’s basketball returns to action versus SIU Edwardsville on Thursday. Game time is set for 11 a.m. in the Gentry Center. TSU will welcome students from Metro Schools to campus for Kids Day.

THE LADY TIGERS AT A GLANCE: Tennessee State (3-14, 1-7 OVC) has dropped four straight and is looking to pick up its second league win of the season. The Lady Tigers are coming off an, 85-73, loss to Murray State.

Redshirt junior Tia Wooten is leading the team with an OVC best 21.1 points per game while freshman Taylor Roberts averages 14.6 points per outing. Kaliya Griffin (8.1 ppg) is the third leading scorer for the Lady Tigers. Wooten and Roberts also lead the team in rebounding.

As a team, TSU is averaging 67.2 points per game while shooting 36.5 from the field and 27.5 percent from three-point range. The Lady Tigers are shooting 74.0 from the free-throw line.

In the OVC, TSU is third in offensive rebounding, steals and free-throw percentage.

LAST TIME OUT: The second quarter proved to be the difference in an, 85-73, loss to Murray State at home. TSU was outscored, 21-12, in the second period and played from behind the rest of the game. Tia Wooten registered her sixth double-double of the season with 28 points and 10 rebounds while Kaliya Griffin made five three-pointers scored 17 points in the game. Taylor Roberts added 14 points off the bench.

ABOUT THE OPPONENT: SIUE (10-9, 7-1 OVC) has won three straight and is most recently coming off a last second, 73-70, win over UT Martin. Lauren White leads the team in scoring with 14.1 points per game while Donshel Beck (13.4 ppg) is the teams second leading scorer.

SERIES INFORMATION: Tennessee State and SIU Edwardsville will meet for the 11th time in the series history and the second time this season. SIUE won the first meeting, 74-63, in the Vadalabene Center and improved to 7-3 overall against TSU.
