NASHVILLE --- Tennessee State University women’s basketball senior I’mani Davis scored her 1,000th career point Saturday evening during the Lady Tigers’ game versus UT Martin.
Davis went into the game needing 20 points to become the 18th Lady Tiger to score at least 1,000 points in her career.
The Tulsa, Okla. native had 16 points at the end of regulation but when the game went into overtime she scored the first four points of the extra period to reach the 1,000-point milestone.
She currently ranks 18th among TSU’s all-time leading scorers and is the third leading scorer on this year’s team with 11.9 ppg.
Davis is the second Lady Tiger to reach 1,000 career points this season as fellow senior Jayda Johnson accomplished the feat in November. TSU now has three players on the team with at least 1,000 Division I career points as Olivia Jones has 1,176.
