GAMEDAY
The Tennessee State University women’s basketball returns to action at the Hatter Classic in DeLand, Fla Dec. 19-20. The Lady Tigers will face Bethune Cookman on Monday at 3 p.m. (2 p.m. CT) before matching up with tournament host Stetson on Tuesday at 1 p.m. (12 p.m. CT). The game versus Stetson will be broadcast on ESPN3.      

THE LADY TIGERS AT A GLANCE
Tennessee State (3-5) is coming off a 97-41 win at over Fisk at home. TSU has played six of its first eight games on the road. The Lady Tigers have faced teams from the Big 10, Big 12, Big East, Mountain West and SEC so far this season.

The Lady Tigers are averaging 63.2 points per contest while shooting 39.2 percent from the field and 28.6 percent from three-point range. TSU is struggling from the free-throw line and is only shooting .612 from the charity stripe.

Jayda Johnson leads the team in scoring with 14.1 points per game while Olivia Jones (13.5 ppg) and I’mani Davis (11.2 ppg) also average double-digits for the Lady Tigers. Davis and Jones are also the team’s leading rebounders.

The Lady Tigers are led by fifth year head coach and Hall of Famer, Larry Joe Inman.

LAST TIME OUT
TSU jumped out to a 34-1 first quarter lead and never looked back in a 97-41 victory over Fisk. Four Lady Tigers scored in double-digits led by Jayda Johnson’s 19 points. Olivia Jones tallied 12 points while Kaliya Griffin and Tia Wooten scored 11 and 10 respectively. The win was TSU’s second straight. 

ABOUT THE OPPONENTS
Bethune Cookman
has an overall record of 3-6 with the Wildcats most recently coming off a, 52-50, win over North Florida at home. BCU is a member of the MEAC.

Stetson is off to a 10-2 start and has won two straight. The Hatters are most recently coming off an 89-50 win over Palm Beach Atlantic. Stetson is a member of the A-Sun.

SERIES INFORMATION
TSU will match up with Bethune Cookman and Stetson for the first time in the series history.
