After opening up the season with two road contests, the Tennessee State University women’s basketball team will return to action at home on Saturday, Nov. 19 against Arkansas State. Game time is set for 12 p.m. in the Gentry Center.
THE LADY TIGERS AT A GLANCE
Tennessee State (0-2) is dropped its first two games of the season to Xavier (Big East) and Oklahoma State (Big 12) respectively. TSU is most recently coming off an, 86-48, loss to OSU on Tuesday.
Through two games the Lady Tigers are averaging 51.0 points per contest while shooting 36.8 percent from the field. TSU is struggling from the free-throw line and has only made 11-of-20 (55.0 percent) from the charity stripe.
Seniors and All-OVC preseason selections Jayda Johnson (15.0 ppg) and I’mani Davis (9.5 ppg) lead the team in scoring while sophomore Tiana Parker rounds out the top three scorers with 7.5 points per outing.
The Lady Tigers are led by fifth year head coach and Hall of Famer, Larry Joe Inman.

Tennessee State dropped an 86-48 decision to Oklahoma State Tuesday night on the road. The offense struggled and the team fell into a hole that it couldn’t climb out of. Jayda Johnson finished the game with 13 points while Tiana Parker and Kaliya Griffin each scored 10 points.
ABOUT ARKANSAS STATE
Arkansas State, a member of the Sunbelt Conference, is 2-0 to start the season. The Red Wolves are most recently coming off a 62-55 loss to Austin Peay on Wednesday. The game was tightly contested from the onset but APSU outscored ASU 20-10 in the fourth quarter to pull out the win.
Brittany Fowler led the Red Wolves with 17 points and was the only player to reach double-figures.
ASU also faced Oklahoma State in the season opener and fell to the Cowgirls, 76-34.
After two games, Arkansas State is averaging 44.5 points per game while shooting 24.6 percent from the field. Brittany Fowler (8.5 ppg), Taylor Starr (7.0 ppg) and Dominique Oliver (7.0 ppg) are the team’s leading scorers.
TSU and Arkansas State will meet for the third time in the series history. Each team has won once, with each margin of victory being two points.
