NASHVILLE --- Head women’s basketball coach Larry Inman has announced the hiring of Jessica Davis as the Director of Basketball Operations for the Lady Tiger program.
Davis has coaching and administration experience on the collegiate and high school levels. She comes to Tennessee State after serving as a teacher, administrator and associate head boys’ basketball coach at Redan High School in Stone Mountain, Ga.
“The DOBO position requires someone that has a very diverse background,” commented head coach Larry Inman. “Jessica is a former basketball player and she has worked with the WBCA. She comes with a good background and will be a welcomed asset to our program.”
Prior to her position at Redan, Davis was an assistant Girls’ Basketball Coach and head coach of the Fall League at Columbia High School while also working as a Special Projects Intern with the WBCA’s “So You Want to be a Coach” program.
Her coaching career began at Emory University as a volunteer assistant coach for the women’s basketball program. In addition to a number of coaching duties, she assisted with team travel, managing the budget and equipment.
She conducted personal basketball skill development training for guard and post players while also working various basketball camps.
During her stint as an assistant coach, Davis also served in another capacity at Emory University in which she assisted with finance matters, audited expense reports, processed donations and reviewed data from application documents for the offices of Alumni Relations, Admissions and Undergraduate Education.
Davis graduated from Florida State University in 2010 with a B.A. in English and minor in business.
