NASHVILLE --- Tennessee State University women’s basketball junior Jayda Johnson was named a BoxtoRow All-American on Tuesday.
The, 6-0 forward, garnered second-team honors after leading TSU in scoring with15.7 points per game to go with a team second-best 6.8 rebounds per outing. Johnson poured in 17.1 ppg in Ohio Valley Conference games while ranking 2nd in the league in offensive rebounding, 6th in scoring and 8th in overall rebounding.
A native of Knoxville, Tenn., Johnson was also named to the All-OVC First team as well as the TLP Thanksgiving Classic All-Tournament team during the 2015-16 campaign.
She posted seven double-doubles this season and scored in double-digits 26 times. She has poured in a total of 470 points this season and now ranks among the active career scoring leaders in the OVC.
