THE LADY TIGERS AT A GLANCE
Tennessee State is in a slump and has dropped five-straight contests. The Lady Tigers are most recently coming off a disappointing, 70-66, loss to Eastern Kentucky on Wednesday. The loss dropped TSU to 9-14 overall and 4-6 in league play. Currently TSU is sitting in 8th place in the league standings.
Jayda Johnson leads the Lady Tigers in scoring and rebounding with 15.1 points and 7.1 rebounds per game. I’mani Davis follows in both categories with 13.0 points and 7.0 rebounds per game while Brianna Lawrence rounds out the top three scorers with 10.7 ppg.
As a team, TSU is averaging 61.6 points per game while shooting 36.0 percent from the field and 29.0 percent from three-point range. From the free-throw line, TSU is shooting 65.6 percent.
The Lady Tigers are led by fourth year head coach and Hall of Famer, Larry Joe Inman.
LAST TIME OUT
Tennessee State built up double-digit leads twice but each time Eastern Kentucky erased the deficit. TSU was leading by five with five minutes left to play but a scoreless drought would doom the Lady Tigers and give them their first home loss of the season. The Colonels claimed the contest 70-66. Jayda Johnson led TSU with 23 points and 11 rebounds while Jordan Brightwell scored 14. I’mani Davis finished the game with 11 points, three blocks and three steals.
