NASHVILLE --- The Tennessee State University women’s basketball team completed its 17th practice of the season Tuesday morning in the Gentry Center.
The Lady Tigers got started with ball handling and passing before moving to drills focused on post work. The defending OVC Champions transitioned to offensive work and ran through a number of plays for about 20 minutes.
Following review of the offensive plays, the guards and post players split to do position work. The Lady Tigers ran through a number of shooting, one-on-one and defensive drills in their groups.
After the position work concluded, the squad broke up into teams of three and got up-and-down the court in a series of 5-on-5 match-ups. Each group focused on offensive execution and taking care of the ball.
The latter part of practice was dedicated to the defense , as the team went over various half and full court situations.
The team finished practice with a series of sprints led by strength and conditioning coach Tyler Watson.
Fans will get a chance to meet the Lady Tigers and get an autographed poster on Thursday at Big Blue Madness. The event is set for 6:30 p.m. in the Gentry Center.
