NASHVILLE --- As campus is buzzing from the excitement of Homecoming Week, practice for the Tennessee State University women's basketball team continued on Tuesday.
The Lady Tigers, who had their seventh official practice of the preseason, once again began the day early with a 5:30 a.m. start.
“I thought we had a good practice,” said head coach Larry Inman. “We had a lot of stuff that we put in and I think our progress is forward. We had a lot more enthusiasm (than the first day of practice).”
Although the practice included drills and defensive work, much of today’s focus was offense. The team broke up into three groups to run through a number of offensive sets up and down the court. The workout concluded with a 5-on-5 scrimmage.
“We have a lot of depth and we lack a lot of experience,” Inman continued. “The key will be getting them battle tested and get them where they need to be. That’s what we’re trying to do. “
The Lady Tigers continue practice tomorrow morning in preparation for the season opener on Nov. 13 at Indiana in the Preseason WNIT. Fans will have their first chance to see the Lady Tigers on Oct. 29 at Big Blue Madness.
