TSU joins Brick Church Middle for TCAP University

Nashville --- Members of the Tennessee State University athletics department will visit Brick Church Middle School for TCAP University.

TCAP University will be held at Brick Church Middle School on Thursday, March 31, at 6 p.m. The event is for the Brick Church families to help students get ready for the assessment test.

"Brick Church Middle School will host a very important event for parents to bring their children (students of Brick Church Middle) to TCAP review night," said Verda Christian Stewart, Special Projects Manager, MNPS.  "This review is very important for Brick Church students as parental involvement has been proven to increase grades!"

Students in Grades 3-8 take the Tennessee Comprehensive Assessment Program (TCAP) Achievement Test each spring. The Achievement Test is a timed, multiple choice assessment that measures skills in Reading, Language Arts, Mathematics, Science and Social Studies. Student results are reported to parents, teachers and administrators.

The Tennessee State University Tigerbelles as well as the Lady Tiger basketball team will attend to support and encourage the young people of the importance of education. Members of the TSU cheerleading squad will also be in attendance.

In addition, the event will feature a surprise Titans guest, Tennessee Titans Cheerleaders, Mascots from local universities and 92Q DJ Kenny Smooth. There will be prizes, music and free food available for those who attend.
