The Tennessee State University women's basketball team will return to action this Saturday when the Lady Tigers travel to Clarksville to face the Lady Govs of Austin Peay. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:15 p.m. in the Dunn Center.
LADY TIGER REVIEW
The Lady Tigers are coming off an, 81-71, win over SIU-Edwardsville on Tuesday. TSU used a 16-4 run late in the game to open up its lead on the way to the win.
Tayla Foster exploded for a career-high 33 points and recorded her second double-double of the season with 11 rebounds in the game. Meredith Stafford came off the bench to record 14 points and eight rebounds while Alana Morris tallied 11 points and eight boards. Destiney Gaston finished the game with 10 points, four rebounds, three blocks and three steals.
FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
Tayla Foster was named the adidas® Ohio Valley Conference Co-Freshman of the Week for her performance last week vs. Murray State and UT Martin.
TSU has a 3-10 record on the road this year... APSU is 5-4 at home this season... TSU is 8th place in the league... APSU is tied for fourth in the OVC

ABOUT AUSTIN PEAY
Austin Peay has an overall record of 9-16 but the Lady Govs ar 8-5 in conference play and sit in fourth place in the league standings. APSU has won two straight home games, including a most recent victory over Murray State last Saturday. Five players posted double-digits in scoring in the game led by Whitney Hanley's 19 points. Meghan Bussabarger and Jasmine Tayner tallied 12 points while Brooke Faulkner and Dalila Thomas added 10.
Hanley is the team's leading scorer with 12.5 points per game while Rayner averages 9.8 ppg.
As a team the Lady Govs average 60.2 ppg while shooting 38.1 percent from the field (29.4 percent from 3-point range).
The Lady Tigers will match-up with the Lady Govs for the 55th time in the series history with APSU holding a, 31-23, lead over TSU. The Lady Govs claimed the first meeting earlier this season, 60-45, in the Gentry Center.
The Lady Tigers will continue their road swing with a contest at league leading Tennessee Tech next Saturday.
