Nashville --- The 2010-11 Tennessee State University women's basketball schedule will feature 13 home games and 11 non-conference match-ups, including opponents from the ACC and SEC.

Following an exhibition contest against Bluefield College on Nov. 9, Tennessee State will officially kick off the 2010-11 campaign on the road at the University of Alabama, Nov. 12. TSU will continue on the road with a contest at Southern Illinois University (Nov. 16).

The Lady Tigers will return to the Gentry Center for the first home game of the season on Nov. 18 when they host the Bulldogs of Cumberland University. On Saturday, Nov. 20, TSU will host Jackson State before preparing for a five-game road stint.

During the five game road swing, the Lady Tigers will face the University of Arkansas (Nov.23) and Lipscomb (Nov.27) before embarking on a couple of early OVC games at Eastern Illinois (Dec. 2) and Southeast Missouri (Dec. 4).

The next two games will see TSU return to non-conference action against cross-town rival Belmont, Dec. 7 and Conference USA member Southern Mississippi, Dec. 11.

The final games in December will include home games against Morehead State (Dec. 19) and Eastern Kentucky (Dec. 20) as well as a road contest versus ACC member Georgia Tech.

The Lady Tigers will begin the new year on the road, with match- ups against Murray State (Jan.6), UT Martin (Jan. 8) and Southern Illinois University - Edwardsville (Jan. 11), the newest member of the Ohio Valley Conference. SIUE, however, will not be a qualifying participant of the conference until the 2011-12 season.

Over the next three games, TSU will host Austin Peay (Jan. 15), Jacksonville State (Jan. 20) and Tennessee Tech (Jan. 22) in the Gentry Center.  Following the home stand, the Lady Tigers hit the road to face Morehead (Jan. 27) and Eastern Kentucky (Jan. 29).

TSU returns to the Gentry Center for the beginning part of February when they host Murray State (Feb. 3), UT Martin (Feb. 5), and SIUE (Feb. 8). The final road swing of the season begins at Austin Peay on Feb. 12 and concludes with contests at Tennessee Tech (Feb. 17) and Jacksonville State on Feb. 19

In the final two regular season games of the season, Tennessee State will meet back up with Southeast Missouri on Feb. 24 before hosting Eastern Illinois on Senior Day, Feb. 26.

"With a young team, comprised of mostly freshmen and sophomores, we have a challenge to get the team ready as soon as possible, said head coach Tracee Wells. "With the early games, we really want to see where we stand and how we'll stack up against our opponents in the OVC. We have some tough opponents; including a few coming out of the ACC and the SEC. Those games should definitely get us ready for a competitive OVC schedule."
