Nashville --- It took overtime to decide the winner in women's basketball's Blue and White scrimmage Sunday afternoon in the Gentry Center.
The score was tied at the end of the 20-minute scrimmage but the White team was able to capture and keep the lead in the two-minute overtime.
"The blue & white scrimmage is an opportunity for our team to showcase our talents and get the crowd excited about the season," said head coach Tracee Wells. "I thought we put on a competitive scrimmage overall. As a coach, I see plenty to work on over the next eight days before our first exhibition game but that's why we play this game: for preparation."
"We will tighten up our loose ends and hopefully look a lot sharper on the offensive end and pick up the pressure defensively. But for a young team overall, not bad for a first look with the lights on and the fans in the building. It was great to get a sneak peak with such good fan support. We look forward to seeing a great crowd again for the Bluefield game!"
The Lady Tigers will host Bluefield College on Nov.9 in an exhibition game before officially kicking off the season at Alabama on Nov.12.
