Women's Basketball Releases 2009-10 Slate

Nashville --- The Tennessee State University women’s basketball schedule for the 2009-10 season has been released.

The Lady Tigers will play a total of 27 regular season games with 13 contests on their home court in the Gentry Center.

After opening up with the annual Blue & White scrimmage (Nov.2) the Lady Tigers face-off against Bluefield College in an exhibition game on Nov.9.

Tennessee State will officially kick-off the season with a three-game road swing beginning at Jackson State on Nov.14. The Lady Tigers will then travel to Chicago, Ill. to participate in the Depaul University Tournament, Nov. 20-21.

Following the tournament, TSU will return to the Gentry Center for the season home opener against Cumberland University on Nov. 25. Later in the week, the Lady Tigers will match-up with cross-town rival Lipscomb University (Nov.28) before hosting Eastern Ill. (Dec.3) and Southeast Missouri in the first OVC action of the year.

TSU will return to non-conference action when it travels to the University of Georgia on Dec. 8. The Lady Tigers will then host Alabama A&M in the Gentry Center (Dec.13) before facing intra-city opponents Vanderbilt (Dec.20) at Memorial Gymnasium and Belmont (Dec. 30) at home to close out the year.

The Lady Tigers will open up the New Year on the road with OVC contests at Eastern Kentucky (Jan.2) and Morehead State (Jan.4). TSU will continue OVC action at home and on the road throughout the months of January and February. Mid-February will see the Lady Tigers gear up for the final three regular season home games beginning with Austin Peay on Feb.13. TSU will match-up with Tennessee Tech (Feb.15) and Jacksonville State (Feb.15) in its two final regular season home games.

The Lady Tigers will wrap up the regular on the road with games against Southeast Missouri on Feb.25 and Eastern Illinois on Feb.27.

The OVC tournament first round begins on Tuesday, March 2.
