Nashville --- The Tennessee State University women's basketball team will continue its home stand with a contest against cross town Lipscomb University on Saturday, Nov.28 at 7 p.m. in the Gentry Center.
The Lady Tigers (1-3) are coming off a 60-42 win over Lipscomb on Wednesday. With the win, TSU snapped a three-game losing skid and picked up its first victory of the season. Oby Okafor led the Lady Tigers with 17 points and 10 rebounds for her second double-double of the season while LaDona Pierce dished out a team best eight assists.
Lipscomb will enter the game with a record of 2-4. The Bisons only two wins were against Central Arkansas and Presbyterian College. LU snapped a three-game losing skid with the win over Presbyterian College. Two of the losses came at the hand of OVC members Austin Peay and Morehead State.
Jenna Bartsokas leads Lipscomb in scoring with 11.2 points a game while Valerie Bronson adds 10.7 per contest. Brittany Buerk pulls down a team best 6.8 rebounds a game for the Lady Bisons.
TSU and Lipscomb will meet for the 18th time with the Lady Tigers holding a 14-3 series lead. Last season Lipscomb captured a 63-55 win in Allen Arena.
Saturday's contest, slated to tip-off at 7 p.m. in the Gentry Center, marks the second of three food drives that will be held during the TSU basketball games. Admission to the game will be free with the donation of non-perishable food items.
