Nashville --- Tennessee State University women’s basketball program adds Rasheeda Love and Jamie Shadian to the coaching staff as announced by head coach Tracee Wells.

“I am extremely excited to add both Jamie and Rasheeda to my staff,” commented head coach Tracee Wells.  “They are both very excited to be a part of the Lady Tiger family and to be a part of the Tennessee State University community. Both of them come with a lot of knowledge and experience that is going to immediately impact our program. From their playing background to their experiences as assistant coaches, we’re going to be able to continue to build this program with their help.”

As an assistant coach, Love will assist with recruiting and perimeter development. She will also spearhead the community outreach program and serve as the camp coordinator.

Love comes to Tennessee State after serving five years as a women’s basketball assistant at Southern Illinois University. During her stint at SIU, Love handled all aspects of equipment and all basketball camps. She also assisted with recruiting and perimeter development.

“Coach Love has an energy that I didn’t think could match my own. But it does. She has a personality for recruiting. She has never met a stranger. Coach Love had an immediate positive impact on the players in her first meeting with them. I look forward to her bringing that enthusiasm to the court and helping us to bring quality players to Tennessee State.”

Shadian will coordinate team travel, in addition to serving as the academic liaison. She will also assist with recruiting, camps, and perimeter development.

Shadian comes to Tennessee State after serving as an assistant women’s basketball coach at Northwood University. While at Northwood, Shadian served at the recruiting coordinator, post coach and head strength and conditioning coach.

“Coach Shadian has had a background in media relations; she has done color commentary; she has played overseas; she has traveled the country and has done a lot of things away from basketball that will be able to impact with our public relations and our fundraising activities. Her wealth of basketball experience is going to be a tremendous help. She’s outgoing, she’s motivated and driven to be in this profession.”
