Lady Tigers Set to Face Cross-town Belmont

Nashville --- The Tennessee State University women’s basketball team will travel across town to face Belmont University in non-conference action on Tuesday night at the Curb Event Center.


Game time is scheduled for 7 p.m.


This will be the 27th meeting between the two teams, with Belmont holding a 19-7 series advantage. Last season, the Bruins defeated the Lady Tigers 67-56 in the Gentry Center (12/1/07).


Kendra Appling led all scorers with a game-high 21 points in the contest while Oby Okafor posted 19 points and eight boards.


The Lady Tigers, coming off a 59-55 road victory over Southeast Missouri, are led in scoring by seniors Kendra Appling (15.9 ppg) and Tiffany Jackson (13.1 ppg). Chelsea Cromartie (5.6 rpg) leads the team in rebounding.
