Nashville --- Avery
Jones, Ashley Tate and Jasmine Shuler signed National Letters of Intent to
join the TSU women’s basketball program next season.
Avery Jones averaged 12.7
points and 7.2 rebounds as a junior and helped her team to the semifinals of
the girls’ Sweet 16 tournament. One of the
top high school players in Kentucky, Jones just recently recorded her 1,000th career point at DuPontManualHigh school. The 6-1 native
of Louisville, Ky.
is ranked the No.6 player in Kentucky
according to Rick Bolus recruiting services.
Tate, a two-time captain at RidgewayHigh School, is leading
the Memphis Shelby County Metro area in assists.Tate, a native of Memphis, Tennessee,
was recently named to the Martin Luther King Classic All-Tournament team. She is
averaging 14 points, three assists, and three steals as a senior.
Shuler has over 1,100 career points at KenwoodHigh School in Clarksville, Tennessee.
The 5-8 guard was named to the 10AAA All-District team and she was also a Leaf
Chronicle All-Area first team selection.
