Nashville, Tenn.--- Junior guard Kendra Appling was named the Ohio Valley Conference Player of the Week on Feb.25.
Appling posted a career-high 50 points to lead TSU to a crucial OVC win over Jacksonville State last Saturday. She was 19-of-31 (61%) from the field and 6-of-10 (60%) from beyond the arc. She also knocked down 6-of-7 free-throws. Her 50 point performance was one point shy of the OVC and TSU record for most points scored in a single game.
Appling also recorded her 1,000th career point against the Gamecocks, moving her into 12th place on TSU’s All-Time Leading Scorers List. This is her first Player of the Week recognition.
