TSU Participates in WBCA “Think Pink” Week

The Tennessee State University women’s basketball team, along with administrators and other student athletes will participate in the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association’s (WBCA) “Think Pink” week.

The Lady Tigers are one of 650 participating institutions. The WBCA began “Think Pink” in 2007 as an initiative to raise breast cancer awareness in women’s basketball, on campuses and in communities. In 2007, more than 120 schools unified for this effort and helped make the inaugural year of the WBCA's “Think Pink” a success.

In their contest against Austin Peay, the Lady Tigers wore “Think Pink” shirts during warm-ups and pink shoe laces and socks during the game. A few Lady Tiger players also wore pink head bands.  Fans were also encouraged to wear pink.

In TSU’s upcoming game versus Murray State on Thursday, the Lady Tigers will once again warm-up in their pink shirts and wear the pink socks and shoe laces during the contest. Student-athletes, coaches, and administrators will be dressed in the specially made TSU Athletics “Think Pink” shirts.
