Lady Tiger Places Third in Oratorical Contest

Nashville---Tennessee State University women's basketball player Tequila Martin placed third in the Robert N. Murrell Oratorical Contest held this past Sunday in the Floyd Payne Campus Center.

 The contest, celebrating its 20th anniversary, provides students with the opportunity to showcase their speaking ability.

Martin , a 5-4 freshman guard from Dothan, Alabama, spoke on the theme "Pursuing Excellence As We Embrace Our Legacy".

She is the first student-athlete to participate in and win the contest according to TSU professor Dr. Veronica Duncan.
