LADY TIGERS TAKE FIRST EXHIBITION VICTORY

NASHVILLE --- Four Tennessee State freshmen scored in double figures to lead the way to the Lady Tigers' 88-81 victory over Sports Reach in the basketball exhibition opener Saturday night in Gentry. Obiageli Okafor led the quartet with 23 points while Kendra Appling tallied 20. Brittney Marshall added 15 while Tiffany Jackson contributed 13. The game was the first of two exhibition tilts for the Lady Tigers. TSU will host the Memphis State Liners on Tuesday evening as part of a doubleheader with the men's team. Sports Reach was led by Sarah Potts, a former Kentucky player, who had a game-high 34 points. Former TSU player Kendra Bailey scored 18.
