NASHVILLE --- Tennessee State saw visiting Morehead State maintain a double digit lead throughout the first half on the way to spoiling the Lady Tigers' home opener, 64-50 in Ohio Valley Conference women's play Monday night. TSU playing at home for the first time after eight road games, falls to 0-9 and 0-3 in the OVC. The Lady Eagles improve to 7-3 and 2-1. Morehead State led 36-27 at intermission and opened as much as a 20-point lead in the final half. Morehead State was led by the double-double performance of LaKrisha Brown who had 21 points and a season-high 21 rebounds. Megan Gearhart added 15 points. Morehead State held a 56-37 rebounding advantage. The Lady Tigers did not place a player in double figures. Leslie Dean had nine points. TSU shot 29 percent (19-of-65) from the floor. The Lady Tigers got 24 of their 50 points off the bench. TSU plays at Murray State on Thursday.
