TSU WOMEN'S SECOND HALF RALLYFALLS SHORT IN CONSOLATION LOSS

HUNTINGTON, W. Va.. --- Tennessee State fought back from a 17-point second-half deficit to pull to within four points, but Ohio University was able to hold back the Lady Tigers to win 74-69 in the consolation game of the Fifth Third Marshall University Classic on Saturday The Lady Tigers saw the Bobcats grab a 39-32 advantage at the half, thanks to a hot-shooting performance of 57 percent from the field. TSU fell behind by its largest deficit (17) at the 9:15 mark of the second half, before the Lady Tigers began their climb back. TSU pulled to within four points (62-58) on Obiageli Okafor's jump shot at the 4:06 mark, but TSU could get no closer. The Lady Tigers were led by Kendra Appling, who tallied 18 points and dished out a team-best four assists. Okafor scored 15 points and had a game-high nine rebounds, while Leslie Dean and Ashley Sibby had 11 points each. Rachel Frederick led Ohio with 18 points.
