NASHVILLE --- After a full week off from game action for fall semester exams, the Tennessee State Lady Tiger basketball team returns to action with a trip to nearby Lipscomb for a Saturday (7 p.m) contest in the new Allen Arena. The Lady Tigers make the return to play for the first time since dropping a 52-47 decision at Alabama A&M. A scoreless stretch of almost six minutes and 36 turnovers did the Lady Tiger in as the host Lady Bulldogs were able to rally for the win. TSU, which made the trip to Alabama A&M with four double-digit scorers, now has five players all averaging within a point of each other. Odessa Kelly leads the pack at 9.6 ppg, followed by Tristin Johnson and LaToya Clay (9.4 ppg), Thersa Bowen (9.2 ppg) and Kisha Stewart (8.8 ppg). While the Lady Tigers were busy with exams, Lipscomb has been busy with three games this week. The Lady Bisons opened the week with a 61-52 overtime loss at Ole Miss on Sunday afternoon. Lipscomb bounced back with a 79-52 win over Mercer Tuesday night and on Thursday, dropped a one-point 68-67 decision to visiting Xavier. Lipscomb stands 2-5 on the season. TSU will play at Arkansas-Little Rock Monday night. The Lady Tigers will host Jackson State on Friday (Dec. 20) at 6 p.m. in the Gentry Center. ###
