NASHVILLE --- The Tennessee State women's basketball team travels to Alabama A&M to start a series with the Lady Bulldogs as the teams meet Saturday (Dec. 7) at 1 p.m. TSU will play for the final time before fall semester exams against the Lady Bulldogs. In its home opener Wednesday night, the Lady Tigers led at halftime, but Southern Illinois was able to rally for a 72-62 victory. The Lady Tigers hurt themselves with their shooting, especially from the free throw line, where they converted just 13 of 32 opportunities. The Lady Tigers will go against an Alabama A&M team that is 1-2 on the season. The Lady Bulldogs defeated future Ohio Valley Conference member Samford for their victory thus far this season. TSU has displayed a very balanced scoring attack. Junior LaToya Clay leads TSU at 11.3 points per game, followed by Odessa Kelly at 10.5 ppg, and Theresa Bowen and Kisha Stewart each at 10 ppg. The game against A&M will be followed by a full week off from game action. The Lady Tigers will return to action with a Dec. 14 game at Lipscomb. ###
