LADY TIGERS DEFEATED BY MOREHEAD STATE
NASHVILLE --- The scene was too familiar for the Tennessee State Lady Tiger basketball team as the team saw a first-half lead evaporate as visiting Morehead State took control of the game on its way to posting a 76-59 win Monday night.
The Lady Tigers led by six points early and were leading 21-16 near the nine-minute mark when Morehead State made a 12-0 run to take the lead for good. The Lady Eagles led by 11 points at halftime (38-27) and kept the lead in double figures the entire second half.
TSU was led by LaToya Clay with 15 points while Theresa Bowen added 12. Tristin Johnson had a double figure night with 10 rebounds.
Morehead State placed four players in double figures. Travece Turner paved the way with 18 points. The Lady Eagles held a 53-43 rebounding advantage.
TSU (2-9, 0-2) plays at Tennessee-Martin Saturday. Morehead State hosts Southeast Missouri on Thursday.###
