HOST'S FAST SECOND-HALF START DOOMS LADY TIGERS
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. --- After playing host Arkansas-Little Rock to a 33-33 halftime tie, Tennessee State saw the Lady Trojans make an 11-2 run early in the second half on the way to an 80-63 win Monday night in the first meeting between the two schools. The final margin was UALR's biggest lead of the night as the Lady Trojans scored the final seven points to conclude the game. UALR shot 58 percent (15-26) in the final half to lead the way to the win. Kisha Stweart was the lone Lady Tiger in double figures, scoring a TSU career-high 20 points. Odessa Kelly came off the bench to grab 10 rebounds. The Lady Tigers shot 34 percent (23-67) from the floor. UALR was led by Eplunus Brooks who came off the bench to score 23 points. Brooks converted 9-of-10 field goals and grabbed 13 rebounds. TSU will have its second home game of the season Friday night, hosting Jackson State att 6 p.m. in the Gentry Center.
