LADY TIGERS BEGIN HOMESTAND WITH LOSS TO TECH
NASHVILLE --- Tennessee Tech shot 57 percent from the field in the first half and then made 21-22 free throws in the second half on the way to handing the Lady Tigers an 81-58 defeat Saturday night. TSU saw post player Emily Christian tally 33 points while Jennifere Simpson cleared the boards for 18 rebounds, 16 coming on the defensive end. The Lady Tigers got 18 points from Odessa Kelly. Kisha Stewart came off the bench to score 14 points. Stewart connected on a game-high four 3-point field goals. Guard Aquanya McClain led the Lady Tigers with eight rebounds. The Lady Tigers began a three-game homestand and are pushing to gain a spot in the Ohio Valley Conference postseason tournament. The Lady Tigers have home games with Eastern Illinois (Thursday) and Southeast Missouri (Saturday).
