LADY TIGERS RECORD SECOND CONSECUTIVE OVC VICTORY WITH WIN OVER UT MARTIN
NASHVILLE --- The Tennessee State Lady Tigers recorded their second straight Ohio Valley Conference victory with an 85-82 win over Tennessee-Martin Monday night, behind a career-high 33 points from Odessa Kelly. Kelly hit a pair of back-to-back field goals near the one-minute mark as the Lady Tigers erased a one-point deficit to take an 83-80 lead. A junior, from Nashville, Kelly was 15-22 from the field and also had a game-high 10 rebounds. TSU (4-16, 2-8) shot a season-best 54.5 percent from the floor and held a 40-29 rebounding advantage over the Skyhawks. Aquanya McCalin added 19 points and eight rebounds while Quanecia Fletcher added 12 points. Neither team led by more than four points in the second half in a game which had 10 ties. TSU had taken a 43-38 lead into halftime. UT Martin (8-14, 5-6) was led by senior Amy Watson ?s career-high 27 points. Tiffany Brundige added 18 and Danielle Page 10. TSU plays at Eastern Kentucky Thursday night.
