LADY TIGERS DEFEATED BY SOUTHEAST;RETURN HOME TO HOST MURRAY STATE THURSDAY
CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. --- Tennessee State battled upstart Southeast Missouri, but the hosts were able to notch a 77-64 victory over the Lady Tigers in Ohio Valley Conference women's basketball play Monday night. TSU led early in the game, but an 8-0 run mid-way through the first half broke a 19-19 and gave Southeast the lead for good. The Otahkians led 39-30 at halftime and were able to build a double digit lead in the second half. The Lady Tigers were led by LaToya Clay's 18 points, eight rebounds, and five blocked shots. Odessa Kelly had a double-double with 15 point and 10 rebounds and Quanecia Fletcher was the third Lady Tiger in double figures, scoring 12 points. Southeast's Lori Chase matched Clay for game-high scoring honors with 18 points. TSU will return to the Gentry Center to host Murray State at 5:30 p.m. Thursday (Feb. 6).
