QUICK HITTERS: Tennessee State volleyball close the regular season schedule with a trip to Kentukcy. The Tigers will make a stop at Morehead State for a 7 p.m. before heading to Eastern Kentucky for another evening match at 5 p.m.

Earlier in the season, Big Blue swept the Colonels, 3-0, before being swept by the Eagles in Kean Hall.

Moving into the final matchups of the regular season, TSU would like to improve its all-time series records, currently sitting on a 12-54 record versus EKU and 13-49 against Morehead State.

LAST TIME OUT: Last week in volleyball, the Tigers closed out its home schedule dropping two matches to Tennessee Tech, 3-0, and Jacksonville State, 3-1. 

TSU opened the week versus the Golden Eagles. Freshman Aria Holmes led the match in blocks with five. This marks her fourth match leading the Tigers in total blocks. Holmes also closed the night with a .571 hitting percentage on four kills. The Tigers struggled on both sides of the ball with a sole Tiger, Julia Pierson, recording double-digit kills with 10, and no Tiger with double-digit digs. 

Big Blue celebrated Senior Day, honoring sole senior Rachel Henderson at the beginning of Saturday's match versus Jacksonville State. Henderson finished the afternoon leading the Tigers in kills with 14. Julia Pierson registered her 11th double-double of the season with 13 kills and tying for the team-high 17 digs. Freshman Kristian Marshall recorded her season-high 24 assists leading the Tigers as its primary setter on senior day. Aria Holmes led the match in blocks with six, adding six kills to her stat line. 

The Tigers are ranked seventh in the league. 

SCOUTING MOREHEAD STATE: Olivia Lohmeier, sophomore outisde hitter for the Eagles has summed 346 kills on the season, placing her third in the league in kills per set with 3.53. MSU is ranked top five in six-of-seven statistics categories in the OVC, and leads the league in blocks per set with 2.28. A threat at the service line, defensive specialist Danielle McCarson leads the conference in service aces.

SCOUTING EASTERN KENTUCKY: In the last matchup between the Tigers and the Colonels, Cassie Knutson and Lindsey Wilkins, the teams' top scorers combined for 25 kills. EKU comibined for three service aces and 44 digs, led by libero Chloe Rojas. The team is coming off of a two-loss weekend, going to five with conference-leader Austin Peay and being swept by Morehead State.  

UP NEXT: The Tigers are currently ranked seventh in the league, affording the team a spot in the postseason Ohio Valley Confernce tournament. The top eight teams are afforded a spot in the bracket. For a guaranteed spot, Tennessee State must win both matches this weekend.
