MATCH INFORMATION: Tennessee State (6-20, 2-10 OVC) will host crosstown rivals, the Belmont Bruins (12-12, 7-5 OVC), tomorrow Tuesday, Oct. 31 for its black out in Kean Hall at 6 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT: TSU rounded out its final road matches of the season in Kentucky, taking on Morehead State Friday, Oct. 27 and ended the week in Richmond playing the Eastern Kentucky Colonels Saturday, Oct. 28. Big Blue fell 3-1 against both Ohio Valley Conference teams. In the match against the Eagles, Rachel Henderson came out with 12 kills and a .241 clip while posting four Tiger blocks. Tennessee State notched seven blocks against Morehead State. Finishing out the week against EKU, Katora Roberts put down eight kills to lead the Tigers and Samantha Beltran recorded her 11th double-double of the season with 15 assists and 14 digs.

SERIES INFORMATION: The Tigers visited Belmont earlier this season for one of its first conference matches. TSU went to four against the Bruins before falling 3-1 (25-16, 25-18, 21-25, 25-22). Last year in Kean Hall, Big Blue beat Belmont in five sets (25-23, 14-25, 17-25, 26-24, 16-14). After the loss back in September, TSU is 10-22 in the all-time series against Belmont. In the past five seasons, TSU is 5-5 and 3-5 in Kean Hall against the Bruins.

ABOUT BELMONT: The Bruins have weapons in senior Arianna Person who has registered 333 kills this season, leading the Bruins by a gap of almost 140. Alexa Nichols is the runner-up with 195 kills. Belmont relies on three setters, first Emma Price, then Akia Warrior and finally Maggie Mullins. Price posted 47 assists against Morehead State last weekend, while Ellie Ivancich will lead back-row defense.

Against TSU, three of Belmont’s players recorded double-digit kills and led the Tigers with a .210 hitting percentage holding TSU to just .088. Belmont will have to get around the Tiger block as Big Blue posted 11 kills, the season high against the Bruins and out-dug them 57-50.

UP NEXT: The Tiger volleyball team will host SIUE for its Code Blue match in Kean Hall Saturday, Nov. 4 at noon.
